We’ve posted this before, but now it’s official: Taylor Schilling is going to be busy this year
The script centers on the relationship between an emotionally stunted aunt and her 13-year-old niece.
Taylor Schilling has closed a deal to star in the indie Fam-i-ly, the directorial debut of writer Laura Steinel, perhaps best known for her work on Amazon comedy Red Oaks.
Sue Naegle and Jeremy Garelick are producing.
The script, which was written by Steinel, centers on the relationship between an emotionally stunted aunt (Schilling) and her 13-year-old niece, who wants nothing more than to run away from home and become a juggalo. A juggalo is a term used for extreme fans of a subset of hip-hop who have developed their own social group and lingo. (Yes, it’s a real thing.)
Schilling is the lauded star of Netflix’s drama Orange Is the New Black, which wraps production on its fifth season this week. She will shoot The Public, a much anticipated ensemble drama to be directed by Emilio Estevez, this winter before starting Fam-i-ly. The actress also has a couple of movies in the can: sci-fi pic The Titan, which also stars Sam Worthington, and Take Me.
Schilling is repped by Gersh and 3 Arts.
Couldn’t find this on the site so here’s a teaser poster and the synopsis for ‘The Titan’ with Taylor Schilling
“Hotshot Air Force pilot, Rick Janssen (Sam Worthington), is chosen for a military experiment that will create a human being capable of surviving the harsh environments of Saturn’s moon, TITAN.
The experiment is successful, turning Rick into a super-human, but it also creates deadly side-effects which threatens the life of Rick, his wife and family, and possibly humanity itself.

About Delphine Gaborit
My work as a performer will never be in the past, being physical is in essence what makes me who I am and has had and continues to have a brilliant impact on my personal life. But along side this practice I have also worked with actors as a movement coach and directors as a movement director. I have worked of course for the theatre (productions at the National Theatre London), advertising (Lycra, Uniqlo, Tetley Tea….), feature films (The Titan, Lennart Ruff, Suspiria, Luca Guardagnino, Take me, Mike Makowsky) and short films (First song with Saam Farahmand).
