Taylor Schilling interview with London Evening Standard

New Taylor Schilling interview with London Evening Standard

From Evening Standard

Taylor Schilling has said fans of Orange Is The New Black will find the new series of the Netflix prison drama very different to the previous five.

Schilling plays Piper Chapman, one of the main characters in the hit show. In the sixth series, released on Friday, the inmates are moved to maximum security after the riots that played out over three days in series five.

The actress said: “Everyone is off-centre and trying to deal with much more aggressive and dark circumstances than they have in the past. It’s a different take on everyone.”

While she recognises the importance of the award-winning drama with its all-female cast, Schilling admitted she is amazed fans are so “committed and invested in the show”.

The 33-year-old explained: “It’s beautiful to sit back after having done it for a while and see so much connection has happened.

“I feel like the show has given people a little more elbow room to breathe and be themselves.

“It becomes an easy way to converse. Once you know you have this show in common, there’s a whole world of values you share with somebody”.

Schilling added the show has “bridged the gap” for many fans, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the drama.

Taryn Manning talks about Taylor Schilling in interview with Buzzfeed

Taryn Manning mentions Taylor Schilling few times in her interview with Buzzfeed

Who is most likely to nail a shot in one take?

Taryn Manning: I would say Taylor [Schilling, who plays Piper Chapman]. She just knows her character so well. I feel like her character has… not remained the same obviously — she’s been through a lot. But she’s always been smart, she always will be smart. She’s just at ease with all the writing.
