Prior to viewing the first episode of the season, the SAG Award-winning ensemble addressedMartha Stewart’s recent comments to Chelsea Handler. The mogul—who was sentenced to five months in prison in 2004 for fraud and insider-trading charges—said on Handler’s Netflix talk show that she hasn’t watched the acclaimed series, even though last season introduced a character loosely based upon her. Stewart added that the show is “not as good as the real thing”: “When you live through Orange Is the New Black,” she explained, “the real characters are better.”

“The show is genuine and honest and a real representation of women,” added star Taylor Schilling. “It’s about women embracing themselves and even their flaws. It’s a breath of fresh air to see women portrayed so authentically on screen. I’m so proud what the show stands for and she should watch and find out.”
