From Daily Mail:

She rocketed to fame with her portrayal of bisexual prisoner Piper Chapman on Orange Is The New Black.

But Taylor Schilling showed that she looks even better out of a orange jumpsuit as she dazzled on the cover of Diva – Europe’s only mainstream lesbian and bisexual magazine.

Beaming broadly for the photoshoot, the 31-year-old actress was a vision of beauty in the snaps, but whilst she may have looked worlds away from her character, she explained they share similar traits.

‘I’ve never been in jail but I understand someone who discovers that she’s really an outsider and has to figure out her place,’ she explained.

More after the jump

The blonde beauty also spoke out about breaking out of the ‘gay ghetto’ of television, explaining that the programme had become about more than just the characters’ sexuality.

Speaking about the mixture of characters, she said: ‘The lesbian aspect of the story is important, but much more important is the fact that these women are mothers, daughters, girlfriends and working women.

‘The real breakthrough of Orange is that audiences are able to see these women as fully formed characters.’

With season four of the programme now available and promising to focus on some of the lesser-known characters, fans will be able to see even more of the character development the show has been so heavily-praised for.

Upping the glamour for her cover shot, the Golden Globe nominee wore a black leather shift dress that hugged her phenomenal figure as she posed with one hand on her tiny waist.

Opting for a neutral make-up palette, Taylor oozed glamour as she fashioned a coy smile for the camera.

July’s issue of DIVA is on sale now at divadigital.co.uk, and in all good newsagents
