Taylor Schilling’s Interview with ELLE magazine
Why Origins? It’s pretty amazing that they’re like, “Use our hashtags and we’ll plant a tree,” isn’t it? Origins really prioritizes natural products in a way that really lines up with my values. It’s recently become much more important to know something I’m using is not harming the planet. Especially recently.
I don’t know! I don’t want to be one of those people saying, “Everything I do is for the planet!” You know? But everything on the news is so overwhelming. There’s so much need and so many things happening right now in the world that deserve so much attention and need so much support. But without the foundation we’re all living on right now, once that goes, nothing else matters. For whatever reason, that becomes very clear to me as I get older. Being able to take a tiny bit of responsibility and becoming more aware of [the planet] in my daily life is important to me.
Your Instagram is full of outdoor photos. Where are some of your favorite trails?
I have to say, I’m not as intrepid as some of my friends are. At the same time, it’s one of my favorite things to do, and I do it often. But what I tend to do is, I’m a creature of habit. I find one or two places that feel off the beaten path [in Los Angeles] and return to those spots again and again. For me that’s really fulfilling too – finding my spots.
